About Iris TechEd (Aris College)

Iris TechEd is an educational technology project focused on helping learners and educators understand, use, and explore digital tools for teaching and learning.

We create and publish educational resources, tutorials, guides, and practical explanations about educational technology. Our goal is to make technology used in education easier to understand and more accessible to people who may not have extensive technical experience.

Iris TechEd operates as a fiscally sponsored project of The Hack Foundation, doing business as Hack Club, a United States 501(c)(3) public charity.

Our Mission

The mission of Iris TechEd is to advance education through accessible technology knowledge and practical learning resources.

Technology is increasingly part of everyday education, but many useful tools can be difficult to understand or implement. Iris TechEd aims to reduce that barrier by producing educational material that explains these technologies in a practical and approachable way.

Our work is intended to help students, educators, independent learners, and members of the wider community better understand digital learning tools and use technology effectively for educational purposes.

What We Do

Iris TechEd develops and publishes educational content relating to technology and digital learning.

Our activities include:

  • creating step-by-step tutorials for educational software and platforms
  • publishing written guides and explanatory resources
  • producing educational technology demonstrations and learning materials
  • helping learners understand how digital platforms can be used for teaching, studying, collaboration, and organization
  • exploring tools and workflows that can improve access to digital learning
  • maintaining technical projects and infrastructure used to support our educational activities

Some of our current material focuses on learning-management systems and tools used by teachers and students, including practical guides for setting up and using digital learning environments.

Our public resources are developed primarily for educational and community benefit rather than for the distribution of profits to private owners or shareholders.

Who We Serve

Iris TechEd's resources are intended for the broader learning community.

This can include:

  • students
  • teachers and educators
  • independent learners
  • people learning to use educational technology
  • community members interested in digital education and technology

Our work is not limited to members of a particular company, institution, or private organization.

Fiscal Sponsorship

Iris TechEd is not separately incorporated as an independent 501(c)(3) organization and does not have a separate EIN.

Iris TechEd operates as a fiscally sponsored project of:

The Hack Foundation, d.b.a. Hack Club
United States 501(c)(3) public charity
EIN: 81-2908499

The fiscal sponsorship arrangement provides the organizational and charitable framework under which Iris TechEd operates.

References to The Hack Foundation or Hack Club in Iris TechEd's nonprofit documentation therefore relate to our fiscal sponsor rather than to a separate unrelated organization.

About “Aris College”

Aris College is not a separately incorporated organization, registered school, accredited college, university, or nonprofit entity.

The name is used as a fictional educational environment and project branding for learning environments and educational technology projects used by Iris TechEd.

For example, it may be used when demonstrating how educational platforms, classroom systems, accounts, or digital learning environments work.

The legal/nonprofit organization associated with the activities described on this website is Iris TechEd, fiscally sponsored by The Hack Foundation (d.b.a. Hack Club).

The use of the Aris College name does not represent a separate legal organization.

Our Public Work

Iris TechEd publishes educational materials directly through this website.

Our articles and resources demonstrate the type of educational work carried out by the project. As Iris TechEd continues developing, additional tutorials, guides, and resources will be added over time.

The project is currently small, so the number of published resources may be limited. We prioritize creating practical and useful educational material rather than publishing content solely for volume.

Transparency and Verification

Iris TechEd may provide documentation regarding its fiscal sponsorship and nonprofit status when required for legitimate verification purposes.

Because Iris TechEd is fiscally sponsored rather than independently incorporated, some documents may identify The Hack Foundation as the legal nonprofit entity while other documents identify Iris TechEd as the sponsored project.
